Hey everyone,

We’ve just completed the backend integration and public documentation mapping for a new automated trading framework specifically built for Gold (XAUUSD)—GoldPacker v2.

Instead of chasing high-frequency scalp setups or flooding liquidity pools with mid-candle noise, this system relies on a purely mathematical trend-continuation model mapped strictly to the 1-Hour (H1) timeframe.

I wanted to open up a technical thread here to share the exact execution rules, breakdown the raw backtest metrics, and get your thoughts on the structural parameters.

⚙️ The Technical Architecture & Execution Logic

  1. Strict Closed-Bar Entry Mechanics:The EA evaluates entry conditions precisely at the opening second of a new H1 candle, using only the finalized state of the previous bar ($Bar_{t-1}$). Decisions are completely static, effectively eliminating the mid-candle "repainting" bugs and execution disparities that plague many retail EAs when transitioning from a backtest to a live environment.
  2. News Mitigation Protocol:To shield trading capital from erratic spread widening and broker slippage, the algorithm incorporates a filter designed to restrict new entry execution around high-impact macroeconomic news releases.
  3. Built-in Capital Protection:The strategy completely avoids unmanaged, account-destroying grid multipliers or martingale structures. It utilizes systematic trailing risk parameters to lock in equity profits dynamically as a macro trend develops.

Performance Metrics Breakdown (Jan 2025 – Jan 2027)

We ran the core algorithm through a rigorous 2-year testing cycle using 100% Quality Real Tick Data featuring historical variable spreads. To ensure real-world robustness, an aggressive 500ms emulated slippage delay was baked into the test parameters.

GoldPacker_EA.png

  • Initial Baseline Deposit: 10,000.00
  • Total Net Profit: 74,873.00 (~748% gain over 24 months)
  • Profit Factor: 2.50
  • Total Trades Executed: 86 (Low frequency, averaging ~3.5 trades a month)
  • Maximal Equity Drawdown: 20,602.00 (22.16%)
  • Relative Equity Drawdown: 78.21% ($18,608.00)

Access & Licensing Options

Because the algorithm relies on digital key signing locked directly to your MetaTrader platform, we are offering two entry tiers to allow traders to run their own forward-testing environments:

  • 30-Day Evaluation Pass ($48): Fully functional access for 30 days, valid for 1 Real Account ID and 2 Demo Account IDs.
  • Full Lifetime License ($256): Unlimited permanent access, expanded to cover 2 Real Account IDs and 2 Demo Account IDs for multi-broker diversification.

My honest review of GoldPacker V2 after analyzing the backtest and speaking directly with the developer

I spent quite some time analyzing GoldPacker V2 and asking the developer detailed technical questions about its internal mechanics. I think this information may be useful for potential buyers.

First of all, I have to give credit to the developer for being unusually transparent. He confirmed that the 30-day trial is 100% identical to the lifetime version, with no hidden restrictions. He also openly explained the recovery mechanism, the reason behind the 78.21% relative equity drawdown in the verification test, and the fact that the EA does not have a hard limit on the number of recovery positions or total lot exposure.

The positive side:

  • H1 strategy with relatively few trades
  • Good historical performance
  • 100% real tick verification data
  • No traditional retail grid with simple exponential martingale multiplication
  • The developer answers technical questions honestly and does not hide the risks
The critical side:

  • The EA uses an internal recovery and position scaling mechanism
  • It can increase exposure during losing periods
  • There is no fixed maximum number of positions or maximum total lot size
  • There is no traditional hard stop-loss protecting the account
In simple words: the strategy relies on the assumption that the market will eventually return to a favorable trend structure. Most of the time this can work very well, but during extreme market conditions a prolonged move against the recovery cycle could theoretically lead to a complete account loss.

For me, the biggest positive point is actually the honesty of the developer. Many EA vendors would simply advertise the impressive equity curve and never mention the underlying risk. Here, the developer clearly acknowledged the risk profile and even recommended using very small initial lot sizes or an external equity-stop.

My personal conclusion:
GoldPacker V2 is not a scam EA and the developer appears professional and transparent. However, it is also not a low-risk "set and forget" trading system. It is a high-risk recovery strategy that requires very conservative lot sizing, proper risk management, and a clear understanding that no built-in maximum exposure limit exists.

Anyone considering this EA should not focus only on the profits shown in the backtest. The most important factors to monitor are maximum floating drawdown, total exposure during recovery, and margin level.

I believe the 30-day trial is actually a fair way to evaluate the EA, but I would test it with the smallest possible lot size and only on capital I am fully prepared to risk.
