I tested using the demo version of V1.7 and found different conclusions from yours: I tested both V1.6 and V1.7 on the M15 time frame with the same parameters. I found that V1.7 performs slightly better than V1.6. The number of trades is similar, but V1.7 has slightly better drawdown and profitability.

I have used it for 3 months and i faced 2 losses, but always market moves in the trade direction after some times even in long term drawdown trades. So let the ea do the work , may be if trade hit loss increase the lot size to cover.
