It is important to understand how each pair compares to the ATR of the EURUSD when deciding about TP's, SL's, Trailing Stops & PipSteps. Obviously the GBPJPY moves a lot more in Pip's than the EURUSD thus a 50 TP is easier reached. There needs to be a way to equalize the inputs.

The table below represents the 45 period D1 ATR's of 28 pairs and their percentages compared to the EURUSD that can be used as multipliers to measure what the correct TP, SL Trailing Stop or PipStep should be. If you know the settings for the EURUSD then you can use this table to extrapolate the ATR to the other pairs by multiplying by the percentage listed in the percentage column.

I will update this table periodically.

GBPJPY as cross pair usually has higher average movement daily compared with GBPUSD
both have a positive correlation, although not exactly the same, due GBPJPY has higher average daily
it can use to hedge and take small profit if has the right position.

    blackking,

Thank you for looking at this. You obviously have a more refined approach in which I would like to learn.

I am looking at the big picture and I can imagine that the indicator ATR can distort some ranges because of the exponential treatment of the ranges.

I published this table to help the trader with their inputs and any distortions will not hurt them that much especially considering the way they are loading EA's on their charts now. It will help more than it will hurt and is a start into trading correctly.

I am getting some questions privately about how to use this table.

If you have an EA with inputs for the EURUSD and you want add other pairs simply multiply your TP, SL, Trail or Step with the percentage listed in the last column.

    Example
    EURUSD: SL 100.0, TP 50.0, Step 250.0
    GBPUSD: SL 100* 142.86%= 142.9, TP 50*142.86%= 71.4, Step 250*142.86%= 357.1

    Hewata,

I do this for posts like yours. Consistently profitable Forex Trading is so hard. It is the hardest thing I have ever tried in my life.

Because of you Hewata, here is the very latest table for your use. It is upgraded with each groups median.

    Good Trading to you!

CORRECTED TABLE (The EURUSD group is the default group which is 100% median). Use your defaults of your EA (usually when you get an EA the coder has it defaulting for use in the EURUSD) and then use the medians for the other groups as mutipliers for your TP, SL, PipSteps, Pip Multipliers, Trail and Trail Extra. (NOT LOTSIZE MULTIPLIERS).

If you have an EA that does not have the symbols in the inputs, then install 28 EA's calculated from the ATR table...It is a lot of work but it works!

You can now use all 28 symbols in all of your EA's. This is your range equalizer.

    Traders,

If you wish to update the table before I publish then all you must do is load an ATR indicator on a H1 chart in each of the symbols with 45 periods.

After you get your values posted you have a choice:
    • You are finished and no grouping is needed. You can now add more symbols that are "range equalized" to test in your favorite EA's.
    • You can make the groups. There are a few EA's out there that trade many pairs and those symbols can be inputted within the EA and the benefit is that the EA then can be loaded only on one chart. There are not many EA's like that as this is much work to code such a thing. But those EA's can use the groups to apply a range equalization from the use of this table. Separators are inserted into the 28 values where the GAPs are. You then can identify the groups start value and end value to find the median (not average). I have placed the long expression in the last update to help you make a median value. The long expression is not used as formula or a macro...it is just to show my work. The groups are always changing the gap breaks with each update, so it is difficult for me to publish the long expression as a formula as it would make the spreadsheet far too complicated for the reader. Anyways....after you get those groups and their medians you can then load your Symbols in those EA's and input your resulting products from the table in your TP's, SL's, Trailing Stops, PipSteps and Pip multipliers. Each group get a new installation of the EA....you can make them as tabs on your platform, thus you are running several instances of the EA simultaniusly with their own "range equalized" settings.
If you have any question please post in this thread. I am sorry I make something fairly simple so complicated. There are no dumb questions and it is my honor to answer those folks that have taken time out of their life to read my work.

Ok! Anyway, thank you very much for that. In fact, it is extremely difficult to put TP and TL without a good trading method

Thank you for the 5-star rating. I always wonder if I overcomplicate things and if I am communicating.

    Still getting questions....

always begin with the EURUSD as this will set your baseline to calculate from. Do not get stuck in the groups and medians as they are for very few EA's out there such as the LifeChanger EA.
