I'm surprise why need to care about it's actual or a copy indicator? in fact author is sharing the indicator for free, if you want to test or use it just carry on, if you don't like it just walk away , thats all.
At the same time after you had tested it and it work well , continue to use it ; if it doesn't work , just delete it , that's all , so simple way.
